The tour winds its way through the varied and charming countryside of the Sankt Wendel region and offers a number of attractive places to stop for a break or explore. In Selbach, for example, the source of the Nahe river, with its associated game reserve and adventure playground, invites you to make your first detour. From there, the route continues to the picturesque estate of Hofgut Imsbach near Theley, which dates back to the time of Napoleon Bonaparte and, just like the Johann-Adams-Mühle, offers cyclists a chance to refuel. With renewed energy, the route soon leads steadily downhill along a former railway line through the idyllic countryside. The somewhat more challenging climb through the Oberthaler Bruch is rewarded by a particularly charming section of the route near the Nohmühle and Elzenberger Mühle. Now the destination is not far off. Once you reach the lakeside path, you can cycle back to the starting point in either direction. A refreshing dip in Lake Bostal will give tired legs a new lease of life. But if you haven’t had enough of cycling, you can keep pedalling on a pedal boat and let your mind wander. The range of leisure activities at Lake Bostal is diverse and leaves nothing to be desired.

Sicherheitshinweise
Three short sections of the route in the woods near Neunkirchen/Nahe, between the Imsbach estate and the Johann-Adams-Mühle mill, and in the Oberthaler Bruch are unpaved, but can be cycled without difficulty on standard touring bikes.
The relatively short route length of 29 km and the fairly moderate total ascent of 210 metres mean that children can cycle almost the entire route without any problems. The only really steep section is the 100-metre climb from Oberthal to the Oberthaler Bruch. Here, well-filled water bottles and the prospect of a refreshing dip in Lake Bostal or an ice cream from the kiosk at the lido provide plenty of motivation.
