Highlights
The 350-kilometre Saarland-Radweg is a varied cycle tour with cycle-friendly accommodation providers, beautiful sights and impressive nature along the way. You cycle from Saarbrücken along the Blies towards France through the picturesque biosphere reserve of the Bliesgau to the baroque town of Blieskastel. Through the green Ostertal valley, you reach the Bostalsee lake and continue cycling over the Peterberg in the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park. Here the nature is without a doubt spectacular and you will find historical musts such as the Celtic ring wall. The route then goes through the border triangle of Saarland, Lorraine and Luxembourg, past the Saarschleife - the symbol of the Saarland - and the French Vauban town of Saarlouis. A diversion to the UNESCO World Heritage Site the Völklinger Hütte just before you return to Saarbrücken is well worthwhile.
