Deutsches Zeitungsmuseum
Interactive museum about the history of newspapers in Germany.
The German Newspaper Museum in Wadgassen displays exhibits on the historical development of newspapers, their production and distribution.
The exhibition is divided into three parts:
The first part focusses on the history of newspapers in Germany from their beginnings to the “Spiegel affair” in 1962, including original prints and valuable exhibits from the early days of the mass medium.
The second part about the historical aspects of technical newspaper production concentrates on historical presses and machines, and visitors can even have a go at printing their own newspaper on them.
The third part focusses on newspapers today, with various hands-on stations inviting visitors to participate and learn.
