And what is right for the Celt is cheap for the Saarlander.
Gold-of-pleasure oil has a special status in the Saarland. The oil extracted from the seeds of the gold-of-pleasure is rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids and is characterised by its golden yellow colour, nutty taste and slightly spicy smell.
In Saarland, the plant is mainly cultivated in natural agriculture and the cold-pressed oil from the seeds is offered by the Bliesgau Ölmühle, for example.
The oil is ideal for cold cuisine, especially for raw vegetables and fine salads.
