Sustainable travel destination Saarland
As first German Land the Saarland has been certified as sustainable travel destination in 2018.
Since October 2018, Saarland has been certified with the label of the independent innovation and certification company TourCert. It commits itself to take responsibility and promote sustainable tourism and to continuously improve environmental protection, customer information, human rights as well as fair business practices. Its sustainability management has been developed according to the TourCert certification standard; it was assessed by an independent auditor and approved by an expert commission. The team members of the Tourismus Zentrale Saarland are in constant dialogue with their suppliers plan and develop their offers based on ecological and social criteria. Important issues that we address in this process are quality of products and services, customer orientation, considerate use of resources, accessibility and sustainable mobility. A sustainable destination is a joint effort based on the cooperative partnerships of all involved institutions and businesses.
The certificate is valid until September 2021
