The Primstal Panorama Trail, a dream loop, offers a vibrant mix of varied landscapes along its route of just under 14 km, with a large proportion of the trail running through natural surroundings. Via forest and meadow paths, past old quarries or through idyllic stream valleys, walkers must tackle a challenging 375 metres of elevation gain. This demands strength and stamina, but the effort is well rewarded in the end. After some strenuous ascents and descents and an adventurous stretch of winding path where sure-footedness is essential, impressive distant views and fantastic vantage points await. You can enjoy a magnificent view of the Schaumberg, the Saarland’s local mountain, as well as the Hunsrück and the Black Forest highlands. Alongside the lush natural surroundings, the tour also offers cultural and historical artefacts. You’ll be walking in the footsteps of the past in the ‘Langheck’ area, as a path runs through here that was already in use in Roman times and probably also in Celtic times. On some sections, the ancient stone paving is still visible today. Not far away lies the ‘Wiesenlandschaft bei Überroth’ nature reserve. In this extensive meadow landscape, mountain hyacinths, common devil’s-bit, medicinal rockrose and arnica thrive.
At the end of the walk, the natural outdoor swimming pool in Primstal awaits, offering a refreshing dip when the weather is warm and your legs are tired.

Report the condition of a path
Have you been out walking on our trails and spotted a fault or damage? If so, please feel free to report it using our fault reporting form. Thank you very much for your help.
Please note:
As a general rule, you enter the forest and walk along the trails at your own risk!
Depending on the season and weather conditions, certain sections of the trails may require extra care when walking. You should therefore wear clothing suitable for the season and weather, and walking boots with appropriate tread. Please be mindful of breaking branches and damaged trees. In strong winds, and in winter due to snow and ice, there is an increased risk of falling trees and falling branches.
