Travelling by bus & train in Saarland
With the Saarland Card, you can use all buses and trains in the Saarland Transport Association (saarVV) free of charge and as often as you like during your stay. This means you can reach many of the participating excursion destinations comfortably and without the hassle of searching for a parking space.
Important to know:
- The Saarland Card is valid from the day of your arrival up to and including the day of your departure as a ticket for your journeys on all public transport in the saarVV network.
- The Saarland Card is only valid to the last station in the Saarland Transport Association service area.
- When travelling by train, the Saarland Card is only valid on local trains (RE and RB), carriage class 2. It is not possible to transfer to long-distance trains (IC, EC, ICE, TGV), even if you pay a surcharge.
- The Saarland Card is not valid on line 30 between Saarbrücken and Forbach.
- The Saarland Card is also valid for the new Sankt Wendeler Land tourist line from 18 May 2024 until the end of the 2024 autumn holidays.
