Veranstaltungsdetails
The Saarpolygon near Ensdorf is a monument to coal mining. It is a reminder of hard work, prosperity and and environmental impact. Thanks to funding from the state government and partnerships with RAG, RAG Montan Immobilien, the BergbauerbeSaar association, the municipality of Ensdorf and the district of Saarlouis, among others, the site will become the venue for the first opera festival at the Saarpolygon in August 2024.
Mozart's "Magic Flute" reaches people like no other opera thanks to its popularity, regardless of their background or social status. It contains light and darkness, the divine and the human, past and future, love and hate, bitterness and hope.
The staging of this essentially hopeful and humanistic work at this highly symbolic location will create a new cultural beacon for the people of Saarland and its guests for years to come.
The production will be staged using innovative design methods (light projections, LED, laser, video) and high-quality sound technology (surround sound). This creates an impressive effect on visitors using contemporary means.
You can look forward to a contemporary production under the direction of the Italian artist Stefano Poda. As director, set and costume designer, lighting designer and choreographer, he will transform the stage into a unique work of art.
