Woodland Garden at the Hunting Lodge

Louis, Prince of Nassau-Saarbrücken, had the hunting lodge built in Karlsbrunn between 1769 and 1786.

Surface area: 10,000 m2

After the property was occupied by troops of the French Revolutionary Army, the terrain was to be transformed into a residence for subsequent foresters and woodland garden. Both these traditions have been revived in the present composition of the garden: in the old tree population, in the wall and step arrangements, and in the serpentine path, which leads to the relaxation pavilion and to other scenic outposts right up to the highest point of this lovely garden.
