The „Saar Spectacle“ revolves around water and water only with the river Saar as the principal performer. The festival is unique in Germany, drawing each year about 300.000 visitors from all over the country and abroad. The programme is organised by 25 different watersport clubs of the region and includes Chinese dragonboat races, rides with amphibian vehicles and water rescue drills.

The festival also features national and international stars performing on two stages each night. Families in particular can have a fun day out here since kids can try different activities and adults can go for a trail diving session in a diving truck holding 26.000 litres of water. Last but not least, there are food stalls and street artists to entertain visitors.
