“Losheimer See“ lake

Located in the corner formed by the three countries of Germany, Luxembourg and France, this artificial lake is surrounded by a charming scenery in the nature park Saar-Hunsrück.

General information

The lake is located 330 metres above sea level and has an expanse of water of 31 hectare plus a water depth of up to 14 metres. Located between Germany, France and Luxembourg, the Losheimer See is particularly enchanting and surrounded by beautiful scenery. Apart from numerous watersports activities possible here and camping sites, the area features a 2.6 miles (4.1 km) long paved round trail that is also suitable for skating.

Swimming and relaxing

Water quality at the Losheimer See is top notch (and this is officially certified). The lido is child-friendly and located in an idyllic bay featuring a large lawn for sunbathing, a water slide and a jumping platform on the lake.

Watersports

Alongside sailing, windsurfing, diving, swimming, pedal boating and canoing, fishing is among the most popular activities here. Lake and brown trout, pikeperch, pickerel, carp and tench can all be found in the Losheimer See. Apart from certain rest periods for specific types of fish, fishing is possible all throughout the year.

Hiking

The “Stausee-Tafeltour“ is 5.9 miles (9.5 km) long and one of the region’s premium trails, leading from the lake to the town of Scheiden.
